Corteva call out for top Rural Consultant in Australian Farmer of the Year Awards

The 2019 Rural Consultant of the Year has encouraged others in the agricultural sector to get their nominations in to the 2020 Australian Farmer of the Year Awards.

Corteva is proud to again be sponsoring the Rural Consultant of the Year category in the 11th annual Australian Farmer of the Year Awards, due to be held in late October.

Founder and director of InspireAG, Tasmania’s Sally Murfet was named as the Rural Consultant of the Year in 2019 and said there have been many benefits to winning the award.

“Even before winning the award, I had an unshakeable belief that people power agriculture, and that’s why I do what I do, and love what I do,” Ms Murfet said.

“Being named as the winner of the Rural Consultant category has increased my visibility and engagement with the agri sector and it’s shown me that I needed to find new ways to play a bigger game if I am to have the impact I aspire to on the Australian agriculture industry,” she said.

“I have grown so much both personally and professionally, and I can now see that the award has positioned me to be a better industry leader.”

Sally said she’d encourage those in the farming sector who know of a great rural consultant to nominate them.

“The Australian Farmer of the Year Awards are an excellent way to share good news stories about our achievements in the areas of innovation, technology and scientific advancement without being entitled or shouty,” she said.

“It’s a great way to showcase the characters, community leaders and individuals that drive an industry that is dedicated to feeding and clothing us.”

Dan Dixon, Marketing Director ANZ for Corteva Agriscience said the company was proud to sponsor the Rural Consultant category again in 2020.

“The Australian Farmer of the Year Awards held each year in Canberra is an incredibly special event to support and attend,” Mr Dixon said.

“Sponsoring the Rural Consultant category is an obvious fit for Corteva, as we recognise that the farmers our business supports are all the more successful and innovative thanks to the support of rural consultants around Australia,” he said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise the consultants who serve their farming communities and help to build Australia’s ag sector year after year.”

Award nominations close at the end of the month. Visit www.farmeroftheyear.com.au for more information.
